This game's pretty sick. You can kinda just do whatever you want, you know? Wanna be a necromantic Thief in heavy armor? Cool ranch kid, ♥♥♥♥ it up. Wanna be a mage archtype that can grow wings, fly, and wield a massive 2-hander, sure dude, whatever. Just play the game, why are you even reading reviews? Nerd.

Divinity 2 has ambition, but its quest design is a structural disaster. The game leans heavily on nonlinear storytelling, yet fails to provide the basic scaffolding that makes nonlinear quests work: consistent logic, readable clues, and consequences that follow from player actions. Many quests hinge on arbitrary triggers, talk to an NPC too early and the quest breaks, talk to them too late and the quest resolves without context. Some quests expect you to intuit solutions that aren’t hinted at anywhere, while others drown you in irrelevant information. It’s the worst of both extremes. The world is interesting, but the quest flow constantly derails immersion. Instead of feeling like a role‑playing experience, it feels like debugging someone else’s half‑finished design document. May be the worst CRPG of all time.

I played both Divinity 1+2 and Baldurs Gate 3 and let me tell you something Larian games are unpolished diamonds, and they just dont know how to polish stuff Please ffs hire proper UI/UX people for Divinity 3 Their obssesion with coop play makes everything from party control to inventory management slog that just sucks the fun out of their games. Did i have fun playing those games? Yes. Could it be infinitly better if it was made by devs who actually played any other RPG before? Totaly, but its just not happening. Trilion different ways to complete quests also mean Gadzilion ways things can go wrong from bugs to failing. Absolute nightmare for completionist because one wrong conversation or wandering into zone you re not supposed to will ruin your entire playthrough. I suppose the game gets decent after you finish it 10x or something, honestly have no idea.

First, I cannot personally recommend this game. However, this is not due to poor quality or gameplay. In fact, the game's performance, voice acting, and production value are all exceptionally high. It's simply not the type of experience I enjoy. I prefer a more guided story and straightforward progression, like in The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2, rather than a game that relies heavily on open exploration and managing numerous quests. If you love deeply immersive, open-world RPGs with complete freedom, I highly recommend this game. However, if you prefer a focused narrative, this game might not be for you. Thank you for reading.

After 700+ hours in BG3, I needed something new to give me that pristine RPG feeling. DOS2 isn't really new, but I have to say it feels incredibly similar to BG3, -the waking up on the beach in BG3 is clearly a throwback to this, and the graphics are very impressive considering the age of DOS2 now. I recommend new players to do story mode for a while just to get used to the game mechanics.

The game focuses on its characters and DnD influences in a great way, leading to lots of good roleplay moments and some solid turn based combat. My biggest gripe is that this game leans into the murder-hobo side of DnD way too much. Killing people is basically the only way to reliably gain experience to keep up with enemy levels (which do not scale to you, as far as I can tell). I had a party that got out of the tutorial prison area at level 4, and realized we needed to go back to level up because the encounters outside had enemies around level 7. Some more roleplay XP opportunities or better scaling would have been appreciated.

The critically acclaimed RPG that raised the bar, from the creators of Baldur's Gate 3. Gather your party. Master deep, tactical combat. Venture as a party of up to four - but know that only one of you will have the chance to become a God.
